The Valldigna is a natural region in which the towns of Simat, Benifairo Tavernes and Barx can be found. The first three can be found in the valley itself while Barx is situated on a raised plain above the valley.

It can be reached along the coast (N 332 or A7 motorway) from Alicante or Valencia or inland from Alzira (N 332).

As the name itself indicates, the valley is completely enclosed by mountains, except for the east side where it opens out towards the coast and through its land runs the river Vaca which runs into the sea at Xeraco.

This special orography shapes the unique features of the Valldigna and is the origin of its beauty: the contrast which the proximity of the sea and the mountain produces is spectacular. Together with this peculiar geographical feature La Valldigna also conserves its Valencian and Mediterranean character.
